TREATS Embrace the Difference Charity Action
Fukutomi staff participated the TREATS Embrace the Difference Charity Action as volunterrs.
Through the event, TREATS aimed at expressing its vision of building an accepting and inclusive
society for all children in Hong Kong.
Donation of Environmental Shopping Bag
300 environmental shopping bags with Fukutomi's logo were delivered to the Agency for Volunteer
Service on 21st July. AVS will donate the bags to organizations/people in need on behalf of
Fukutomi.
ORBIS Mid-Autumn Charity Sale
Fukutomi staff supported ORBIS Mid-Autumn Charity Sale on 16th, 24th an 30th August by selling
lanterns and mini moon cakes at different locations. Prevention and treatment of blindness worldwide
is ORBIS’ ultimate goal.
2008 Community for the Chest
Fukutomi staff supported the 2008 Community for the Chest television show held at Tseung Kwan O
TVB City on 6th September evening as volunteered telephone operators. They were responsible for
receiving phones calls and recording donations made through the hotlines.
Sponsored the Underprivileged Groups to Join the Paralympic Equestrian Events
Through the Caring Company, Fukutomi sponsored the underprivileged groups to watch the Games so that
they could experience the spirits of the Paralympics. With the positive outlook and reliance, para
equestrians are role models for young people. The event collected more than HKD 200,000 donations
and more than 2,500 people from 52 social service organizations had the chance to watch the Games.
Dress Special Day 2008
Fukutomi staff supported the 2008 Dress Special Day organized by the Community Chest on 30th
September 2008. Donations raised through the Dress Special Day will be allocated to support the
Family and Child Welfare Services, Rehabilitation and Aftercare Services and “Community Development
Services.
Oxfam Trailwalkers 2008
It is the 3rd year Fukutomi supported the Oxfam Trailwalkers. 3 teams of 12 participants, composed of
Fukutomi local staff and overseas suppliers, were formed this year. Participants were expected to
complete the 100 km MacLehose Trail within 48 hours, and the funds were raised for Oxfam Hong Kong’s
anti-poverty projects
ORBIS Moonwalkers 2008
Fukutomi staff supported the ORBIS Moonwalkers fundraising event again this year. The Moonwalkers,
departed Mong Kok Fa Hui Park at 11:30 pm, were expected to stride through the 20km route to Sai Kung
Pier within 6 hours. Participants were blindfolded for the 10-minute walk in Carpenter Road Park in
Kowloon City, to experience walking in the dark as blindness and to support ORBIS's fundraising
initiatives and global sight saving programmes
Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2009
Fukutomi had more than 30 staff from Hong Kong and China offices joined the Standard Chartered Hong
Kong Marathon again on 8th February 2008. The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon, Half Marathon
and 10km Challenge attracted more than 55,000 runners this year with about 25 nations represented.
The Full Marathon and Half-Marathon began in Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui and finished at Victoria
Park, Causeway Bay. The 10km Race was run along the Island Eastern Corridor, with entrants starting
at North Point and running through Quarry Bay, Taikoo Shing and Sai Wan Ho before turning at Shau Kei
Wan to return to the full field finish at Victoria Park.
The Community Chest New Territories Walk
Fukutomi staff participated in The Community Chest “New Territories Walk” held on 15th February 2009. The "2008/2009 New Territories Walk for Millions" started from Pak Shek Kok Promenade, proceeded along Tolo Harbour Cycle Track and finished at Tai Po Waterfront Park. It took approximately 1.5 hours to complete the 5.5-km long journey. The Community Chest will allocate the donation to support 21 member social welfare agencies providing extensive "Family and Child Welfare Services" ranging from preventive, supportive to remedial social service, which aim to maintain and strengthen family bonding, and foster mutual support relationships among family members.
Skip-A-Meal
In respond to the World Vision, Fukutomi staff skipped a meal, or had a light meal on the eve of Children’s Day (April 3) and made a donation to help feed hungry people around the world.

“Golf for All” Press Conference
Being the 2009 Distinct Chinese, Mr. Steve Wong, Managing Director of Fukutomi Company Ltd., attended the “Golf for All” press conference organized by the Hong Kong Blind Sports Association on 13th August 2009 at Asia Golf Golf Club, Cheung Sha Wan. Through demonstration by golfers with visual impairment and reports by media, the press conference aimed at improving understanding of the public towards people with visual impairment and develop an integrated community. The “Golf for All” sponsored by the Chinese Community Chest and organized by the Hong Kong Blind Sports Association will be held on 26th September 2009.
Chinese Community Chest 824 Volunteer Day
Fukutomi staff participated in the Volunteer Day organized by the Chinese Community Chest on 24th August 2009 at Pok Oi Hospital Chan Au Yeung Lai Sim Memorial Day Care Centre For The Elderly. The volunteers cut the hair for the elderly, presented gifts to them, and more importantly, shared our love to more than 100 hospice-care elderly on that day.
Golf for All Fun Day
Fukutomi staff participated in the “Golf for All Fun Day” sponsored by the Chinese Community Chest and organized by the Hong Kong Blind Sports Association on 26th September 2009. Golf teams, including blind golfers, participated in the 9 holes tournament held at the SkyCity Nine Eagles Golf Course. The event is to promote the public awareness on the abilities and potential of people with visual impairment and to promote an inclusive society

More than 10 Fukutomi staff and friends, participated in the “TREATS Balloon Festival 2009” Opening Ceremony cum Awarding Ceremony of “Jolly Balloons, GO GO GO!” held at MegaBox, Kowloon Bay, on 18th October 2009. The venue, being turned into an amusement park, was full of happiness and different kinds of balloon. Through the festivity, TREATS shared the vision in creating an integrated society, and promote the 3 themes on integration: Appreciation, Acceptance and Equal Participation. To make sure they were well prepared for the ceremony, Fukutomi staff and friends attended the Balloon Twisting Workshop on 21st September and visited the persons with mental handicap at Lai Yiu Adult Training Centre on 10th October.
Citibank Global Community Day
It is the third consecutive year Fukutomi participated in the “Citibank Global Community Day”. Being Citibank’s corporate customers, Fukutomi staff became volunteers at TWGHs Jockey Club Rehabilitation Complex on 7th November 2009. They made opera masks together with the Rehab Centre residents, which were then put together and became a big print. TWGHs Jockey Club Rehabilitation Complex provides 4 major services – residential; daytime training/caring; occupational rehab; community support – to the learning-disabled people; adults with severe mental disabilities; recovered mental patients; and seniors with visual impairment.
Senior Citizen's Day
The third Sunday in November each year is the "Senior Citizen's Day". Steered by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service, theme of the 2009 Senior Citizen's Day is "Age Friendly City". The idea is to optimize the opportunities for health, participation and security in order to enhance quality of life as people age. To show our respect and care to the elderly, Fukutomi staff raised donation for the Senior Citizen’s Day on 15th November 2009.
Walk for Millions - “New Territories Walk - Stonecutters Bridge
Fukutomi staff participated in the “New Territories Walk - Stonecutters Bridge” on 15th November 2009. The Walk started from Ngong Shuen Chau Viaduct, via Stonecutters Bridge, East Tsing Yi Viaduct and ended at West Portal of Nam Wan Tunnel. Journey time of the 6.5 km route is around 2 hours. Donation collected will benefit the “Children and Youth Services” supported by the Community Chest of Hong Kong. “Children and Youth Services” provides tailored caring services, supportive services and various developmental and training projects to help Children and Youth acquire a well-rounded personal growth and overcome difficulties in their lives. A myriad of activities are also offered to enhance participants’ leadership and inter-personal skills, expanding their social network and develop their sense of responsibility.
"Treasure Every Child" Fundraising and Promotion Event
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Against Child Abuse Ltd. conducted the "Treasure Every Child" Fundraising and Promotion Event to urge families to love their children as well as others. By donating HK$30 or above and submitting a photo which fitted one of the 3 themes – the most likeness of parents; the most cheerfulness smile; and the cutest kid, not only the 10 winners from each theme would receive a souvenir, but all contestants’ photos would also be exhibited at ACA 30th Anniversary Exhibition.
Oxfam Trailwalker 2009
It is the 4th year Fukutomi supported the Oxfam Trailwalkers. 2 teams of 8 participants, composed of Fukutomi local and overseas staff and suppliers overseas were formed this year. Orbis Moonwalkers 2009
Fukutomi staff supported the ORBIS Moonwalkers fundraising event again this year. The Moonwalkers, departed Shatin Sports Ground on 21st November 2009 at 11:30 pm, strode through the 20km route from Ma Liu Shui, Pak Shek Kok Promenade, Yuen Chau Tsai Park, Tai Po Waterfront Park, Shuen Wan, and arrived Plover Cove Reservoir at 6:30 am the next morning. Participants were blindfolded and completed a 10-minute walk in Pak Shek Kok Promenade to experience walking in the dark as blindness and to support ORBIS's fundraising initiatives and global sight saving programmes.
Greening Hong Kong by PolyU Alumni 2009
Nearly 20 Fukutomi staff and children were sponsored by the company and participated in the “Greening Hong Kong by PolyU Alumni 2009” on 29th November 2009. The tree-planting event, held at Yuen Long Park, was jointly organized by PolyU, the Federation of PolyU Alumni Associations and the Leisure & Cultural Services Department. Other than planting, over 1,000 participants also joined the fun games, entertainment and enjoyed their lunch together. The annual greening event aims to raise funds for the needy. All net surpluses will be donated to support The Community Chest of Hong Kong and future development of PolyU.
Sunshine Academy Thanksgiving Festival
It is the honor of Fukutomi to be invited by Sunshine Academy to join its celebration of the Thanksgiving Festival at its Bao’an Centre, Shenzhen, on 2nd December 2009 morning. After a tour around the centre and observed the classes, Fukutomi representatives and the other guests enjoyed the dancing performance and drama presented by the lively students. Started in April 2007, Sunshine Academy is dedicated to love and educate Chinese orphans, instilling dignity and life skills to enable an independent life.
Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2010
Fukutomi had more than 30 staff from Hong Kong and China offices joined the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon the fourth consecutive year on 28th February 2010. The Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km Challenge attracted more than 52,000 runners this year. Same as last year, the Full Marathon and Half-Marathon started at Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, via Tsing Ma Bridge, Cheung Tsing Bridge, Western Harbour Tunnel and finished at Victoria Park, Causeway Bay; while the 10km Race started at Island Eastern Corridor, running through Quarry Bay, Taikoo Shing, Sai Wan Ho and returned to the finish point at Victoria Park.
